hemming homme plisse?
Anyone have a tailor shorten sleeves or hem*** trousers on pleated garments? I remember reading that you’re not really supposed to be able to do it. My tailor is good but probably doesn’t deal with homme plisse regularly. Should I just ask then if they’re comfortable trying or completely avoid?

I'm still a little confused regarding shortening sleeves. Like, in general? Yeah absolutely a tailor can shorten sleeves on a shirt or sport coat. Some stuff requires specialty ability and/or tools rather than a standard alterationist. For example, sport coats / suit jackets may need the sleeves shortened at the shoulder rather than the wrist, which is a real-tailor job. For another example, things like leather coats are way more involved and/or simply not worth altering.
For trousers, pleats don't run that far, they end down your thigh, trousers are hemmed all the way down at the leg opening. No issue there at all unless you're doing something crazy. The thing you run into there is taper, you may need to re-taper the trousers or you want to follow the current taper already in place. Sometimes re-tapering doesn't work because there's not enough fabric to make it less tapered. But in general, if you just want to remove a couple inches, no problem. Remember, most trousers are sold with 37" inseam and designed to be hemmed, regardless of being flat front, one/two/three pleats, forward or reverse pleat, etc.

I dont know if you've seen Homme Plissé trouser before, but they are all pleats.
I've handled them before and I think it should be okay to hem based on the construciton.
Sorry, that's not what popped up on my 2 second google search haha
From how they sit on that guy I bet there's no issue hemming it a bit. That said... bring that shit to a tailor and ask, I guess.
