Shoes to accompany an olive herringbone suit
Hi, looking on advice for what to pair with a darker olive herringbone suit. The shoes I have are:
- Dark brown penny loafers
- Black penny loafers
- Black cap toe oxford
- Mid brown Suede bluchers
- Tan semi brogue oxford (I think these are too light though)

I should add this is to go to a wedding so will likely be wearing a tie, probably burnt orange or black.
Pics would help but I'd say dark brown pennies sound like the best bet
Thanks, I'm leaning that way too. Suit in question:
On a side note, who tied this mans tie?!?
yeah it's pretty dark, and not so green toned as some olive suits
you should be able to get away with black footwear (I find on green toned olive suits, it can look a little militaria, but that won't be an issue here)
do you have a pic of the brown loafers?
Yeah it's definitely looking like black loafers, especially if I go black neck tie.
yeah those look good
FWIW, black pennies are even nicer. Don't have a pic to hand but they're grenson.
Although, black isn't screaming wedding to me.
Or wedding reception I'd say, it's all evening.
Nice suit, nice options. I suspect you can get away with just about any of the ones you listed, except the tan one might be a little off. My personal favorite for a summer wedding would be either the brown or black penny loafers.
It will be October, just planning a little ahead while I have the time and energy. Thanks for the reply, I'm definitely thinking loafers.
Funnily enough, it's an average suit on a super cheap sale. Wool/poly 45/55 but the pair was had for £80. Keep telling myself I'm not investing until I drop a couple sizes lol
:)
I'd suggest staying away from the black shoes. Dark brown penny loafers sound good
