What setups do yall use for homeservers?

I've hosted my server on a rasbperry pi running its OS of an SSD for sometime and am looking for something with a little more punch. What setups do yall have?

i run unraid a good alternative is freenas both have good UI and support for apps I prefer unraid personally, but if you want to use it more as a NAS freenas is the better option the docker support in unraid is really nice tho

Proxmox is an OS, that can run VM Do u know virtualbox/ vmware ? Its the same but directly in the os

I use ESXi so I can pass thru network adapters, NVMe drives and GPUs directly into VMs easily for pretty nutty performance

It can actually - it's just not easy to do it's all done via poorly documented powershell incantations My main server has an ARC A770 LE which is passed thru to a development VM the on-board VGA from the lights-out management satisfies the requirement of having at least one usable display output 😄
