Whenever I go into feeds, and I go to click larvitar quest, what does it do exactly? Does it give me larvitar? Do I click on the pikestop somehow and it give it to me? I'm confused...

It will give you pokestop that has field research task that will reward with larviyar
Well for getting a particular quest from a pokestop you must have a "AR mission" in your field research, AR missions do not take up usual space as they are kindof bonus missions, to get a AR mission spin a pokestop with AR tag. Google it for more info and only when you have AR tag in your field researches you will get a larvitar misson
