Facial recognition doesn't seem to be working with 'merged' faces
Hi everyone, curious if anyone else is noticing that the facial recognition job is 'ignoring' assets if it contains a face that you have previously merged?
I noticed this today, an I am able to recreate this by taking/uploading new photos of my own face, which I had merged earlier today. The facial recognition does not detect (or tag, I suspect) any of my faces in assets uploaded after I merged my face. I've tried resolving by running the 'Recognize Faces' job on Missing assets, however to no avail.
The only workaround currently looks to be re-running 'Recognize Faces' job on All assets.
My server is running v1.68.0, in Kubernetes, on TrueNAS Scale 22.12.3.1

so face A is merged into face B
and then when you uploaded an image, face B cannot be recognized?
both face A and face B it seems
Ok, let me test this and confirm with you
amazing - thanks for the swift response, Alex! and for everything you've done for the community
No problem Matt
confirmed the issue
hah, you're quick!
hopfully it's an easy solve..?
it is a database violation, I will need to look at this later today but we will fix it eventually
it is quite critical so I will need to fix it before the next release
makes sense and much appreciated!
Hey @Alex I've seen the PR #3381 but I seem to still have the same problem on my instance :

Have you happen to merge another set of face yet?
it will reindex the typesense database to remove stale records
After one merging it works 🎉
Thanks for the trick
great! sorry for the inconvenience >.<
managing two set of database is pretty problematic and we are thinking about a better solution
Oh no ! No worries, you're doing a fantastic job and being very reactive 😊
If you can edit the release notes on github maybe add that for merged faces recognition to work again you need to at least merge one face to start the database cleaning
