just trying to find smthn like what aternos servers have, they show an motd when the server is offline
they probably have some sort of server with the lowest amount of features possible, with motd
and it goes up when the server is down
you could do that as well
Here I said it's not possible to do it with only 1 server
i can host as many servers as i need
Then host a bungeecord server that has the motd set, and throw your paper server behind it.
how i would make it so that auto runs when the other bungee goes down
You don't
You just keep bungee running
The jar you linked wasn't an automatic solution either
what im trying to achieve is when my bungee server goes offline, i want an motd to appear saying smthn like maintenance
There isn't an automated solution that exists for that
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/maintenance-bungee-and-spigot-support.40699/
You can manually enable maintenance mode with this bungee plugin
SpigotMC - High Performance Minecraft
Maintenance | Bungee AND Spigot support!
Sleep mode in AMP can do this
It shows a message to the user if they try and connect too
TIL
You can run something like this infront of your minecraft server https://github.com/haveachin/infrared
