Paper vs Fabric Performance
Suppose one wanted to run a 1.20.1 server with no modifications except for performance optimizations. Which would run faster: a Paper server, or a Fabric server with optimization mods like Lithium, Krypton, Starlight, ServerCore, FerriteCore, C2ME, Very Many Players, and so on?
(Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I've searched on the cached subreddit pages and in this Discord and haven't been able to find an answer that applies to 2023.)

pufferfish is a more optimised version of paper so the comparison would be between those two
i would say pufferfish is gonna be faster
+ c2me is unproduction ready
and isnt fully stable
starlight has been implemented in paper
so pufferfish has those patches aswell
Yeah C2ME has a level of risk with it, I haven't had any issues with it so far in my testing though
I guess my follow up question would be, how much faster are we talking?
u cant put numbers on htis
this*
tbh
Yeah, I guess I mean more
Will players notice
Like, does Pufferfish blow an optimized Fabric out of the water, or is it something that won't be observed unless you're running tests
depends on hardware
pufferfish would probably be noticably better than fabric
but if players notice on either is a matter of hardware at a point
I see
Yeah that makes sense
Thank you!
