Are u using a vps or selfhosting
Because it looks like a firewall issue
And it's not allowed to download data from outside
I am selfhosting
I disabled the firewall
let me double check to see that I disabled the firewall
This is what shows when I check the ufw status
Are u sure the machine has internet
yes it is plugged into ethernet
I can ping google just fine
That's uh
Not normal
Looks like it only has Ipv6?
why the fuck
does it only have pv6
but that wouldnt make any sense
because I can make a minecraft server on my pc that I am typing from
and its all located on the same network
Apparently I have both IPv4 and IPv6
Well it's not pinging a ipv4 Google ip
What does ifconfig say
it does not show
an ipv4
it shows inet6
no inet4?
Im assuming I need inet4?
@ProGamingDK
That's your internal ip
It's 6:30 am so someone else will have to help u
I gotta sleep
Please wait
what is it supposed to show?
@Sabermoose try ping 1.1.1.1
I reinstalled the entire linux server
and now I am back to the same issue
this time I havent messed with the firewall at all
and I am having the same issue
This is what happens when I try to run the jar @https://vsus.app
pinging google now works after fresh install
@Sabermoose try a different version
ok
@Sabermoose if it still doesn't work try downloading the jar file from https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server and renaming it into mojang_1.20.1.jar and put it into cache folder
GitHub
Downloading vanilla jar... · Issue #119 · PaperMC/papermc.io
[Cache] This folder failed to download in China, it has been in: Downloading vanilla jar...
ok so...
If I download the server from the main website it works
if I download it from paper it doesnt
also @https://vsus.app where would the cache folder be located?
same folder as your server.jar
ok
I now get the same error as I did before
even after manually installing
No firewall
I am connected to the internet
Ok update: it is only having this issue with paper
oops nvm same issue
I FIGURED IT OUT
IT WAS MY NETWORK FIREWALL
GOD DAMN IT
It was my fucking ISP being a little piece of shit
