Spier and Mackay Trouser Fit
Hey all, I’m trying to expand my wardrobe to feature high waisted trousers in a more relaxed/straight leg fit. I found Spier and Mackay and figured I would give them a try. So far I’ve found that their shirts and jackets fit very well, but I’m having trouble with the trousers. This has been a bit of an issue in general, they fit well in the waist but are too tight in the thighs (I typically wear a size 34 in the waist, but i have 25 inch thighs so I have to size up and then take in the waist).
Anyways, I’ve now ordered two pairs, a 34 first and then a 36. Both were in the contemporary fit. But they did not fit in the thighs when sitting down. Is it worth going up again to a 38 and getting it altered or should I just try a different place?

Sounds like you'll need to accept S&M isn't for you.
Thats what I figured after I got the second pair. A shame, but I'll keep looking
Are there any alternatives that are similar to S&M? I’m looking at Casatlantic but would like some fabrics other than the cotton/herringbone linen they offer
This sucks to hear as someone who’s just purchased 2 suits from them. Waiting for the second one in the mail but I got the same impression. Great jacket fit but man do they fit tight on thighs. Wonder if there’s a way to find matching pants from another brand 🥲
for a suit, no, this is practically impossible
Difficult at best. You could do two things. You could mail S&M and explain the problem, and then, either: 1) ask to custom order pants that are wider in the thigh, or, 2) ask them for the specific fabric code. The problem is that road (2) leads to madness ;)
So as @GSH alluded to, "practically impossible" is close enough to correct. At that point you'd be far better off custom ordering.
