How to distinguish between shared and dedicated Resources?
Hi there!
I run a Minecraft Server on Heavynode atm and am trying to decide if I should switch from MC Hosting to VPS.
The most difficult question to answer is if I need dedicated vs. shared resources.
Reddit and other Sources state that dedicated resources are best for CPU and RAM intense things like gameservers but I cant find out if I'm currently running on dedicated or shared resources. (The machine is obviously shared but I dont know about ram/vcpus.
Without this information, I feel like I can't decide if I should go dedicated or not as the costs are doubling pretty much for dedicated. This could give me a rough estimate but I wonder if anyone has an easy answer for this.
Thank you very much in advance! 🙂

Heavynode is apparently depending on your plan. If your plan says "dedicated x", you're getting dedicated of it says.
Thank you very much for the answer! Can you link me the source of that? I fail to find that mentioned.
HeavyNode
High Performance Game Server Hosting
We provide powerful and reliable game server hosting with DDoS protection at affordable prices, along with the support that every customer needs and deserves.

Plan on top "dedicated threads" plan on bottom no dedicated threads
Thank you very much! I'm literally blind! So in other words, I'm not running dedicated atm. This means it is probably preferrable to run dedicated but not a downgrade if I would go for shared again? Do you have an opinion on that?
Really? How is that?
#marketplace would be best place to find a different host
Oh wait I was thinking of a different "node" host
They all blend in together
yes, apparently 🙂
But honestly, I have had some minor inconveniences but otherwise they're kind of solid in my case
:sadness:
For reference, our only plans with dedicated CPU would be Extreme and Extreme+ (Plus). All other plans come with shared CPU under the fair share policy.
RAM is dedicated on all plans, you can use all of the RAM on your plan at any time (although you may OOM crash if you hit the limit for your specific plan and the server tries to claim more memory).
I was confused with another host! I'm sorry! I deleted that message just now <3
