The spotlight reminded me that they are claiming their theme for this season is "Appropriating Womenswear appropriating Menswear"
Been a recurring theme! Never seems to be in silhouette as they all use conventional masc silhouettes. It's always in the details like the snapskirting, the couture-riffed fabrics, the treatments, and the styling. I think they hit it this season (FW23) pretty well. the shiny "nightlife" sweater that's conventionally a dress or blazer fabric. The lipstick. In pic 2: the longline silhouette with a soft fabric. The velvet contrast collar. The venetian loafers that are close in shape to a ballet flat. Pic 3 with the tights over the skirted detail short and a very basic fem styling . 4: the viscose shirting with the flats again.

How do the clothes tend to run size-wise? Iām interested in a polo on sale but itās only available in a small and there isnāt really any sort of useful size guide (it says the model is 6ā2 and with a 40ā chest and 31 inch waist and wears a medium; Iām about 4 inches shorter than that but with a similar chest and waist)

Bit disappointing, though I suspect I'll like individual pieces more. Favorite looks:

fabrics for the season seem neato
Fabrics definitely seem cool. Herringbone Tweed Printed leather being my highlight (tough to pull out which one was leather on these pics until ya really zoom in).
Honestly love this collection, though it feels like the smallest evolution of the brand yet. All the styling is pretty "samey" from previous seasons. On that though, this is definitely a lookbook you could pull looks from wholesale and feel comfortable in.
For me, the interesting things are
* the rebuild-esque bomber (croc leather arms are a beautiful touch, as is the denim-leather(?) workshirt.
* Next-Step-Shacket with the crocs-imprint and woven leather and silk triple pleats in a sharp taper/drop crotch silhouette
* Velvets all have a perfect sheen compared to most that I've seen in lookbooks
* Cargoes are finally getting more adventerous with pockets all around in one spot, silhouette is still goofy tapered
* A liner jacket shape I really like. Turning the inside into a lapel of sorts is pretty elegant and a nice rip of womenswear RTW (and the pants are the leather which are incredible with a bigger silhouette)
* look 24 is the first silhouette that feels "elegant" for the brand to my eye

just cause the slightly shorter length + sleeve length? That shoulder measurement is my only worry (I'm like a 19" shoulder tight fit)
its super funny how the 46 and 48 are pretty close together and the 50 and 52 are pretty close together but the jump from the 48 to 50 is huge
imo it styles best as a true shacket -- midweight / midlayer. I'd go 50 (as your tts) if you've been happy with your polo. It does definitely fit trimmer than those (at least the leather panel one i have this season).
The time I'd consider going up with your build is if you're not wanting it to be a midlayer. Will be 'normal' fit at TTS i'd guess and throwing a heavy wool coat over it could work. Up might be strange in terms of wider armholes bunching things up if you'd want to throw something over it

The brown leatherette quilted shacket at a shop I tried had the exact same fit/measurements in S and XL. Might have been one off QA, but I haven't been able to piece it all together.

I didn't tailor my sleeves, though I've gotta wear em cuffed if i don't button em. I'd get em shortened, I think the button detailing is kinda useless
neat conceptually as it gives you this nice pleat effect in theory, in practice it missed for me and ended up causing annoying weird stacking
my button holes aren't even cut all the way through on the sleeves
i'm getting them tailored
they are way too long for me
I just don't see any way I can avoid tailoring them
i think that was intentional. They sewed the outside of mine up -- i think it's intended to follow the "you can hide the button if you'd like" as it worked for me as a closure and matched the front hidden button motif.
that said, with ya 100%. Honestly nothing real lost cuttin em to size, and it's a super easy hem

If anyone has anything with the trompe "button" snaps that fall off, they're 7/16" (or size 18). Can be reattached with something that fits that, or if you want to get a different snap of the same size it'll fit in the socket of a standard 7/16th

that's a flipper. he's had it for like two years (tee). the interesting part of the tee is that it's like a fully fashioned knit. wild construction, even if the execution isn't for me
the vest is my favorite 4s piece i've got (from a season later). also have pants and a cardigan in that fabric that are incredible (really nubby boucle and the tiniest sheen from the lurex). if the make of the vest matches the later season, that is a real real gem
