I'll like some advice on how to approach Colors when working on a Black & White themed project #ui

I'm working on a project that's mainly Black & White but I need Colors to be involved. How do I integrate Colors into this project and keep it simple at the same time. #archived-ui-ux-questions

the first thing I would say is that you have already introduced color, because this has at least 2 shades of blue in it beyond that, the easiest way to introduce color to your project, is to make an 'accent' or 'brand' color and then apply it to a few areas. The most common locations are buttons, titles, borders, card bg's, etc and if you like this blue that you are already using, look for a color palette generator online and use that as the initial color. it will spit out a few variations and you can incorporate them as you want

Thanks a lot. So the theme color is Green (#005D30) and I've used it on the Active link on the left. I tried to use it as a hover color but it didn't work hence the blue you see there which is the only blue so far.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I see one 'button' on the left for create a new meeting and that would be a great option to change the BG color to this green

Oh yeah I definitely did that before but the developer insisted on using a light Grey button there and even called me a hard headed designer 🤣 I feel vindicated

the developer may just prefer this blue color and gray is a better match at that point. you'll have to figure out a compromise, because your green and their blue do not work together that well

the green is the company's main color. the developer just prefers the grey of "#FCFCFC

did you do your design in figma or some equivalent? You can create this page in 2 different versions, one based on the company color, and the other based on this blue/grey and then let the client decide which they prefer

Sadly, i wasnt given the time to create from figma because of "time". So i have 2 weeks to deliver a full functioning design 😫 . sounds like you would prefer blue in this scenario tho.

you don't need to make a fully functioning design, you can just recreate this specific image above as a quick mockup in Figma. It''s very basic, you could lay it out quite fast then, do one version of it as it currently is and make a copy, and do that version based on the corporate color

The notion home page is predominantly black and white. You could use that for inspiration. https://www.notion.so/pricing
