Only one player has extremely bad ping
Hey, I launched a server couple of weeks ago and one of my friend has a extremely bad ping, and the interesting part is when he's afk the ping is like 51 but when he goes to the nether or starts to pvp it's goes to like 3000.
Anyone got ideas why?

is he in australia or another location without good connection and far from servers?
the changing of ping between afk and nehter/pvp makes sense as the game and server are having to share more information with each other
-an australian server admin who struggles to even join his own server
No, he's in Estonia same as I and I have a perfect ping and some other players too. But just he has the bad ping
its an issue on his end
restart router maybe
Okay, but any more ideas to fix it? Or is restarting router only option?
uhhh
ask player if they're using ethenet cable
or wifi adapter
ethernet cable would be miles better, yes
also the problem is (most likely) unrelated to minecraft
and the amount of possible problems that could go wrong, makes it difficult to pin down the problem exactly
does the player have a different device
they can connect to server
preferably an android phone since u can fully play mc java on it as if ur playing on pc
well maybe
any device
actually if its geyser, makes sense too
he's using cable
and its java only server no geyser
yes you dont need geyser tho
it's probably an issue on his end tho
does it happen with other games? @Acemavie
No, its only the one server
can he open cmd and ping ur server ip
see what kind of results come back
it fails
yesh its an issue on his end
not just minecraft
tell him to turn both modem and router off for like few minutes
unless he got a router modem combo
then turn it on after those few minutes
unless there's a greater issue and he needs to contact his ISP
okay!
It seems to be fixed! Thanks
