looking for a good paper/spigot 1.20 plugin manager plugin (replace plugmanX)

used to use plugmanx but doesn't work on later versions of 1.19 and doesn't seem to have had any update for a while. basically just need something that will let me load/unload/reload plugins without reboots. bonus if it can check for updates but not critical. does anyone have recommendations/knowledge of ones that are good/work?

fwiw, you shouldn't be using "plugin managers" in the first place.

found this with 10 seconds of Googling https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/pluginmanager.69061/

but you shouldn't use it because they are terrible for your server.

I was hoping someone would have experience of one rather than just trusting the first result of google! sorry. not that I doubt they are, but how are they terrible?

PlugmanX works fine in 1.19-1.20.1 ... I've been using it in those versions and it hasn't really failed much

unloading/loading/reloading plugins during runtime is a horrible idea and unsupported by java itself + most plugins HATE being reloaded and directly warn u against it

I mean you have like 3 options, it's not rocket science to give them a shot yourself and see what works. they're all basically the exact same plugin with a different name. calling the exact same API, literally the exact same methods.

Yeah I mean, what's the worst thatll happen? Memory leaks? No big deal

not like java doesn't just do that anyway 😂

java doesnt memory leak by itself -.-

depends on the plugin. They're not designed for that in-mind, plain and simple. A /god plugin probably won't have any issues. "Oh what's the worse that happens" is a terrible way of looking at it, but hey, we don't care if you fuck things up. 🤷

If it wasn't clear, my message was sarcasm and I strongly advise against plugin manager plugins
