Flannel/tweed/etc. trousers options
Hi, any advice on where to get nice wool trousers? Pics I like (stolen from Derek Guy mostly) attached
Priorities:
- Ships internationally (Australia), good returns policy
- Roomier in the calf/straighter than Spier and Mackay's contemporary fit (hugs my calf almost too much)
- At least 34 inches inseam, preferably longer (would like to cuff)
- Higher rise appreciated
Budget: ideally around USD$200, though feel free to let me know about good options above this mark.

Gonna be cheeky and bump this in case anyone has any input
Have you checked out informale?
Informale
T010 Easy Trousers - Mid-Grey | Informale — Made in Melbourne
The T010 Easy Trouser is without question our most premium garment to date. Made from 100% Australian Merino Wool Flannel by famous Austrian mill Liechtfried Loden, our T010 are a pair of extremely comfortable trousers.
Sold out though unfortunately
I have, they have a bunch of stuff I want to own. Do you have a pair of those?
Nope, same boat as you - heaps of things I want to get off them. I will be heading in to his showroom when I’m down in Melbs next
Have you checked out Octobre-editions?
Olive
Menswear | Volk Wool Trousers, Hazel
Menswear | Volk Wool Trousers, Hazel, 50% Polyester, 50% Wool
I haven't, though I'm not a fan of the cropped look - the olive ones would sit at basically my mid calf, and the trousers I looked at on Octobre aren't much longer.
I think I'll just have to lurk more ebay lol
So higher end brand/tailoring house suggestions welcome for me to add to my saved search :)
Rota Pantaloni. I do see good one sub 200 on ebay new

Yeossal & Co

Yeossal is a good option! I'm planning on buying a pair of summer trousers from them soon, might also get some flannel from them next winter. Thanks for the other suggestions too
Huge fan of Orvis (Signature), except I don't think they make it anymore? Hard to tell. But I think I got, like, four sets of trousers from them. Dunno their availability in the land down under, new or secondhand.

Walker Slater, James trouser has a pleat, Edward trouser is plain fronted. This is for tweed.
James Trouser
For those who like the classic look, and a little more freedom of movement, the James trousers single-pleat style would be advised.
Please note that hemmed trousers cannot be returned for a refund or exchange. If you are unsure of your sizing, we recommend choosing "unfinished" and using a local tailor for your adjustments.
Nice thanks, good to see inseam options
Thanks, I'll add that to my search
Looks like Christian Kimber is releasing a pair soon too
