Mask My Public IP
My public ip is static. All I need to do is to copy it and sent it to my friends. Only once. Done. But this is kind of dangerous, right?
I've heard of some solutions like
ngrok
. But the IP changes every time and I don't know how to use it quite well. Can you help me with an solution to sending my public IP? An easy one is preferred. Thank you!18 Replies

tcpshield, or playit.gg
if its close friends sharing ur own ip can be fine
its only for when u try and go public
I think i'll try tcpshield
playit.gg gives players lag
Can I just don't mask it?
for close close friends
sure
But what if someone has it
Not my friend
Can I trust my firewall?
at max they can do is ddos u
All right
Is there any open source || free ddos prevention apps?
u cant really open source something like that
I'm kinda noob in networks

That won't work for you, L3/L4 attacks can only be mitigated at your ISPs level (unless you have hundreds of gbits of internet). Tcpshield acts as a reverse proxy and proxies requests to your servers, hiding the backend IP, and have custom Layer 7 filters for Minecraft-specific attacks
Got it
if u dont want to risk it just buy a cheap server online
Nah, I think it's fine
They won't warm me
itd be weird if they warmed u 👀
You could also use dynamic dns with a cheap domain using duck dns that way even though anyone can resolve your ip by resolving the dns, it will change and they will have to resolve it again, but ur players will have no issues
Harm* 💀
Got it
I'll try this
