Looking to get a new suit that I can wear to summer (outside) weddings and the office, what color?
Currently the only suit I have is a black one from Walmart I bought for interviews out of college 8 years ago. Now that all my friends are getting married, I want to look appropriate (we are all business professionals than can afford more than a $40 Walmart suit) and not out of place at client meetings.
Is there a color that I can use for outside summer weddings and acceptable to show up to a meeting with a CFO? I'm thinking navy? Maybe charcoal but I'm not sure if that one is okay for daytime outside weddings.

Navy or charcoal, maybe even a mid grey. But the former two are safest. I'd probably go navy if also wanting to double up on wedding duties.
you could look at fresco suits (the fabric - open weave wool). Depending on how formal you want to go, you could look at linen.
what's your office environment like?
I work for one of the big 4 accounting firms. So most of it is work from home. At the office most people wear jeans and a polo these days. At clients, its similar. Its the dinners, networking events, or big meetings with the client/owners that require us to be dressed up.
Currently yes I'm showing up (and often leading the meetings) in a $40 suit across the table from some guy making $50M a year lol.
would opt for a navy suit. when weddings come around you can make it more festive with a shirt, tie and accessories.
Navy is probably your best bet. Something like a wool-silk-linen blend would run cooler which is nice for summer wear while still being formal enough for business meetings
