Use vercel domain in R2 custom domain

Im using vercel to host my project and it automatically generates a domain repo-name.vercel.app. Can this domain be used as a custom domain in R2 for public access

No You'd need a real domain, you don't control the DNS for that Vercel domain

i see. if i were to get a domain from something like namecheap. I would be able to use that as a custom domain in R2?
