Best world size (pre-gen and border)

Hello, I would like to pre-generate and then apply a border to my world using Chunky. What is the suggested sizes and shape (square/circular)?
I don't want to go too big nor too small. Paper/Purpur server on 1.20.1 - Towny system and tons of stuffs

I normally use a radius of 15000 blocks and then expand if players need more, as for the shape I would recommend a circle since it looks the best on map plugins like dynmap.
