Updating a world from 1.18 to 1.20
Alright gather around gather around, for I have a world that uses cave worldgeneration I slammed together for me and some friends to play on. Now whenever I try to update to 1.20 it simply fails to load. Corrupted they say. Output logs state Overworld settings missing.
I am genuinely at my end man. I just want to know how to just remove everything and just keep the world in isolation with no datapacks just everything built and already generated so I can put it with a 1.20 compatable generation datapack and actually load it up. Is that even possible? I don't care if it looks jarring I just want to load this damn thing.
I am so lost I swear to god. Hell i'll straight up pay someone 20 quid if they help me I ain't even capping paypal that shit you know what i'm saying? Please for the love of god just tell me what info you need and help me please

Please check your server log for errors from your plugins.
If you need further help understanding the errors, please send us the whole log file.
Where can I find the server log?
Logs are stored in
<server_directory>/logs/
. Search for a file explorer in your server's management interface and navigate to that directory. Once you've opened that up, search for the latest.log
file. Some providers have a separate page for logs and may hide the "logs" folder.
On Aternos:
• Go to https://aternos.org/log/.
On Minehut and server.pro:
• Go to the "files" tab in the left menu.
• Navigate to the root directory of your server.
• From there navigate to /logs/latest.log
.
What should I do with the log?
• First of all, read it! I mean, that's what you do all the time when you run a server, isn't it? Try to locate any errors that have anything to do with the issue you are facing.
• If you got the latest.log
file or created a .txt
file with the necessary errors you can upload these directly to the channel, but we prefer if you upload them to https://mclo.gs/.
• If you have trouble downloading the log file, copy/paste the text to a paste service (like mclogs). Copy the link that it gives you and send it to us. (Don't worry, McLogs hides your users' IPs.)Admincraft Canned Responses

i got this
if this even makes any sense
I've got the world downloaded i'm trying to tinker with it in singleplayer
open latest.log
and send the contents of it
through https://mclo.gs

do u have any datapacks btw?
Yeah
have u updated them all?
I don't know anything, I straight up would like to remove them all, get that stuff outta the way so I can replace them with stuff that works in 1.20
uh hold on let me describe my plight
do u have any worldgen datapacks?
Alright so the world works fine (1.18) anything above that, world simply is corrupted know what i'm saying? Run on vanilla, still nothing, remove the datapacks still nothing.
The main datapacks are worldgen packs since it was a cave world with biomes added so we can still obtain stuff
ok so
remove all of datapacks
and get logs
alright
and send using mclo.gs
Do a backup first
yeah i got that all saved
hold on
while i do that
by the way, the logs are the logs in the laucher right?
this thing?
no
its the ones from the server
oh
for singleplayer yes.
I'm tinkering it in singleplayer
if it works there I can just upload it to the server no problem
i've downloaded the world trying to get this all to work
let me run it with the datapack folders straight up erased
of course it's gonna take a while to duplicate the world folder i'll be back in a bit
Uhggaahh that doesn't do anything either. Makes another file (empty) though. Like I said even without any datapacks it won't load
where do I put the log it made
i need logs
