How worried should I be about a port scanner on my home-hosted minecraft server?
Hey guys, I've been getting alot of port scanners for my minecraft server that I host for my friends through my home. I have it hosted on Pufferpanel and proxied through a velocity server at Apex Hosting. Should I be worried or not, cause that means that something found my actual IP and is not going through the proxy, right? And if I don't need to worry, how can I get the messages to go away at least?

You got the same ip person spamming my server. good to know I'm not the only one getting harassed(possibly attacked) by this thing. Hopefully someone has an answer to this for us!
You can block the IP on the proxy using a firewall
Or use some kind of plugin that bans connections based on IP
Hmm. This isnt coming from the proxy though, this is coming straight to my home network.
Ill do the IP block plugin. Should i setup something like TCP shield for extra security?
And from what it seems I shouldnt worry about it too much since the issue is mostly benign and been happening to others?

Maybe its one of those shodan.io things, i looked my IP up on that thing and it showed me my open ports that i have for my other servers

@JahnDough you can download a plugin called epicguard from modrith. They have a version for velocity.
