Why can't my friends join my port forwarded minecraft server but I and my other device can?
I have port forwarded and my friends can't join and I, plus my other device (a laptop, on a different wifi network) can - please help

It’s probably because it’s only port forwarded locally within your network, and not open to the public
Use something like this to see if you’re truly port forwarded: https://canyouseeme.org
Open Port Check Tool -- Verify Port Forwarding on Your Router
A free open port check tool used to detect open ports on your connection. Test if port forwarding is correctly setup or if your port is being blocked by your firewall or ISP.
thanks, it appears I'm not port forwarded
I eventually gaveup and started using a free host because I was getting too angry but thanks for your help 🙂
@kayohmedy I am having a similar issue to chxll and used the tool you provided and discovered that the port is in fact closed; being that I already thought that I had forwarded the port, do you have any insight as to how I might fix this?
You can start by showing your port forwarding setup.

I believe I have fixed the issue, I was attempting to use the internal rather than the public IP to connect; thank you very much for the prompt reply though!
