ATM8 1.0.20 server lag

Hey guys, I working on tyring to diagnose some crazy lag on my ATM8 server. It's running off a Windows Server VM on a friends server rack, with nothing else running on that server. We've had pretty crazy lag since we started the server, even with one person online. Main issues listed below. - General world generation lag (Running into the edge of the generated world and waiting sometimes 20 seconds before chunks start generating) - Food eating lag (Takes like 10 seconds to eat steak) - Portal lag - block breaking lag Spark log linked below shows terrible TPS but from what I can tell the server hardware isn't near maxed out. Server log itself is spammed with the usual "Can't keep up!" message, but it's running 15-19,000ms behind. Spark log https://spark.lucko.me/1pmNbSTKDR Would love any help you can offer!

This is my first experience with Proxmox. Could that have anything to do with the issues we’re facing?

Why are they running windows server on proxmox to run Minecraft instead of Linux? What cpu is it running on?

Mostly because of familiarity and ease of use for the main two users of the machine. We’re open to switching if it’d move us closer to fixing these issues. I can’t actually see atm. Waiting on my buddy to respond with that information. I know its a quad core running at 2.6Ghz. Waiting on a new CPU to arrive in the next few weeks. Even without any of the cpu cores being maxed out could that potentially cause the issue?

I should also mention, if you legitimately have a windows server license and you plan on running multiple windows server vms, it’s better to use hyper-v for licensing reasons. As for the cpu, do you know roughly how old the machine is or what platform it’s on? For reference, the best gaming cpu in 2014 — the i7-4770k — can barely run atm7 from what I remember when I hosted a server for my friend And quad core at 2.6ghz doesn’t inspire confidence

Fair point. Afaik he bought the server a few years ago (2-3). I know it was second hand but im not sure how old honestly.

3 years old + second hand hardware (so could be very old) doesnt sound great
