Server specs for Minecraft hosting
Hi, I got an offer to buy a relatively cheap server with AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, 128GB RAM. I'm thinking of renting it out to host a few Minecraft servers.
I have some experience, but I'm not sure how many Minecraft servers this processor could handle.
It's clear to me that there is no magic formula to calculate the capacity of such a server. Rather, I'm wondering if these specs are suitable for my purposes.
Full specs:
- Ryzen 7 5700g
- Kingston FURY 128GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL16
- MSI B450 MORTAR MAX
- 2x WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD 1TB
- 1x Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB
- Seasonic Focus GX 550 W Gold- 80 PLUS Gold

It really depends on a few factors how many plugins were you thinking on having on each
I have the intel core I5 9th gen in my server and the Ryzen 7 5700g is only a slightly better that the I5 from person experience with a server that runs quite a few plugins I would maybe say it could run two reliably but im not 100%
selfhosting or becoming a host?
My intention is to use this as a machine for renting Minecraft servers. So I'm kind of trying to see if these specs are suitable for that, or if I should look for a different processor.
For these reasons, I'm trying to get a rough estimate of the capacity
renting out machines have a ton of other issues
especially selfhosting
I'm aware of that.
