From what I've Heard It's either essentials X or protocollib
server version 1.20 I'm unsure on how to fix it

Binary search your plugins
Remove half of your non-essential (ie not things like PAPI or LuckPerm) plugins and see if the problem is fixed.
If it still persists, the cause is in the half still installed.
Continue to halve the remaining plugins until you've narrowed it down to a single plugin.

Hey, is it okay to revive this question? I am having the same issue, I am hosting my own server and I am using the vanilla client. I have even deleted .minecraft folder to make sure it's vanilla and installed. My friends are joining and can chat without issues, but I cannot. We all are using vanilla minecraft. Don't know what could be the issue, They installed minecraft today or yesterday, I reinstalled today. Any idea why could that be?

for anyone that stumbles upon the same issue
