Login/ Account Issue: How to move domain when don't you have access
Hi, I feel like I am in a catch-22. When you can't access your Cloudflare account, you need to transfer you domain to another Registrar.

To do that you need to login and unlock the domain right?

What am I missing here?
Thanks!

Note: domain was purchased via CF
So you forgot the email that your CF account used?
Yes, (...this is on behalf of a client so I am a little in the dark).
Assuming they have the right email, no reset password email comes.
then, trying to send one to the Domain Owner's account email, no email comes. checked spam and all that
Hmm there may be something you can do given there has to be payment details on file that can be verified but not really sure how you would go about trying to get support to give you the correct email that way let me try and figure out what can be done here 🤔
thanks,
It's a new business and they have a Google Business Account setup with the domain stated "Verified"
Part of me wonders if they setup the business email, and then updated the email in CF without setting up the MX records for it
But anyways, the reason I mention it is that, if they can prove ownership of the domain name via their Google My Business account, would that help?
I can't think of anything else they could use for validation besides the payment info stuff.

I highly doubt proving google my business would help but having the payment information like the card that was actually used could help. Trying to see right now if there is anything that can be done here
ok, cool
Did you have them use this: https://dash.cloudflare.com/forgot-email
Where you enter the domain and it will send an email to the correct account? They should check every email account they have to see if any of them receive an email
I did, and I can get them to double check
Yeah I would have them double/triple check every email looking as that will be the easiest way
they said they wouldn't know any other email it could be.
It doesnt seem there really is anything that can be done. For security reasons they dont give out the email to anyone other than directly to the email of the account owner in question. So at this point the best option is pretty much just guessing which email it might be on and entering in passwords that they use 🤷
https://dash.cloudflare.com/login-help they can fill this out which will require the email of the actual account and you can say that you cant receive email and put in an alternate email which may allow you to verify with payment details to gain access 🤔
Still requires the actual email of the account so may have to fill it out with every email they think it could be
okay, I'll have them go that route, thanks for the help
and if this doesn't go anywhere, is there a way for them to verify that they don't have autorenew on / cancel the domain?
I'm thinking last resort is to create a new CF account and purchase a new domain....
I dont think so you would basically have to block the payment from happening with your credit card company
ok
Hey thanks, that link followed up with an email that said "THIS IS NOT AN EMAIL ON FILE".
That was enough for them to go digging for the real one.
