Hayao Miyazaki's How Do You Live? Film Will Get No Trailers Before Release
π¦π« Studio Ghibli's upcoming movie, Hayao Miyazaki's "How Do You Live?" will be releasing in Japan on July 14, 2023, but it won't be receiving any trailers or teasers before its release. Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki revealed that they wanted to try something new and are tired of the typical marketing cycle. Suzuki gave various reasons for foregoing marketing, stating that audiences do not need trailers to be convinced to watch a movie they're interested in.
π₯π£ The studio has yet to reveal any information about the movie, such as the plot or voice cast, only previously released a poster. Suzuki also said that the minimalist approach for the movie was influenced by Miyazaki himself, who praised the poster, and they will not have any television spots or newspaper ads.
