Somari and the Guardian of the Forest's Creator Still Struggling Financially, Has Regrets Over Anime Adaptation

Delicious in Dungeon Anime's Teaser Trailer Reveals Main Cast, More Staff, January 2024 Debut
🍽️ The much-awaited anime adaptation of "Delicious in Dungeon" (Dungeon Meshi) manga by Ryōko Kui revealed its main cast, staff, and premiere date. The anime, produced by Studio Trigger, will premiere in January 2024.
🍲 The teasers reveal that the main cast includes Kentarō Kumagai as Laios, Sayaka Senbongi as Marcille, Asuna Tomari as Chilchuck, and Hiroshi Naka as Senshi. Yoshihiro Miyajima is directing the anime, while Kimiko Ueno is supervising the series scripts, Naoki Takeda is designing the characters, and Yasunori Mitsuda is composing the music.
🥄 "Delicious in Dungeon" is a unique story about adventurers on a mission to save their lost team member while figuring out how to survive on the food that the dungeon provides. The manga was nominated for various awards and is loved by many, making the upcoming anime adaptation one of the most anticipated anime series.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Anime's Promotional Video Reveals Theme Songs, July 2 Premiere
🎬 The second season of "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation" anime will premiere on Tokyo MX on July 2, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. with an opening theme song "spiral" by LONGMAN and ending theme song "Musubime" by Yuiko Ōhara.
🎨 A new key visual has also been revealed featuring new characters such as Sara, Soldat, Suzanne, and Timothy. The season will also stream on ABEMA and d Anime Store at the same time.
🎟️ A screening of the first two episodes of this season will happen on June 25, 2023, at TOHO CINEMAS for the cast members and director Hiroki Hirano. Crunchyroll will also stream the new season as it airs.

The highlight of the day was Jacki's experience of watching the Jujutsu Kaisen team fighting a demon in 4D. Universal Studios Japan is a perfect destination for anime fans who want to see their favorite anime characters come to life!

K MANGA's Launch Lineup Includes 30+ Manga With English Debuts in U.S.
📣 Kodansha's new K MANGA service has launched as an app for iOS and Android on May 10, with over 30 manga, including Capeta, Baby Steps, Tomodachi Game, and Ace of the Diamond Act II debuting in English in the U.S. The service boasts approximately 400 titles including 60 simulpub titles which use a Ticket- and Point-based system, and the first few chapters of most titles are free. The service is exclusively available in the United States, but the company plans to expand to other countries in the future.
📕 The K MANGA lineup includes new English debuts in the US, such as The Quintessential Quintuplets full color version, The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King, and Asami Kuroki's on A(nother) Bender! The service includes more than 30 manga that previously had no English releases.
🎉 To celebrate the digital launch, Kodansha will host a digital launch party for K MANGA on June 22.

Jacki Jing, an anime fan for almost 30 years, visits the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum to learn about the Father of Anime and God of Manga. Despite only having prior knowledge of Astro Boy, Jacki discovers Tezuka’s immense legacy in the manga and anime industry.
Tezuka’s childhood was marked by bullying and grew exponentially harder during the wartime in which he received a vaccine in unsanitary conditions. The vaccine left him almost unable to use his arms, but he was saved by an excellent doctor who inspired him to study medicine. With his mother encouraging him to follow his dreams of creating manga, Tezuka later became a mangaka and eventually created Astro Boy, a supporting character in Ambassador Atom who got his comic and anime and became a model for character merchandising.
Tezuka’s ventures into adult manga led him to create gekiga and implement an assistance system to help with spot filling, drawing lines, diagonal strokes, and backgrounds. Despite Tezuka’s contributions to the manga and anime industry, Mushi Production, his company, declared bankruptcy in 1973, causing him to step away from animation for a while.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Anime Debuts on Hulu in U.S. on July 9
🧟 The anime adaptation of "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead" manga by Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata will premiere on Hulu in the U.S. on July 9 at 5:00 a.m. EDT. 🌎 Viz Media has licensed the anime in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand and will also stream on Netflix and "other streaming platforms" which will be revealed at a later date.
🎶 The opening theme song titled "Song of the Dead" will be performed by KANA-BOON and the ending theme song titled "Happiness of the Dead" will be performed by Shiyui.
💥 "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead" follows the story of Akira Tendo who embarks on a mission to complete all 100 items on his bucket list as a zombie apocalypse ravages his town. The anime adaptation is produced by Viz Media, Shogakukan, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. and stars Shūichirō Umeda as Akira and Tomori Kusunoki as Shizuka Mikazuki.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Anime's Part 2 Premieres Overseas on July 8
🌟 The second part of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime will premiere on July 8th at 10:30 a.m. EDT on Hulu, Star+, and other selected countries internationally on Disney+ with multiple language subtitles.
🌟 The anime will come back for its second cours and premiere on TV Tokyo in Japan on July 8th at 11:00 p.m. The second cours will cover volumes 55-74 of the manga.
🌟 The anime will run for four cours with breaks in between; w.o.d. will perform the opening theme song, "STARS," which will begin with Thousand-Year Blood War's second quarter; and Tomohisa Taguchi will be replacing Noriyuki Abe as director.

Yen Press Reveals New Licenses Including Kana Akatsuki's Award-Winning Agent of the Four Seasons Novel
📚 Yen Press recently announced new licenses, including an artbook for Fruits Basket titled Complete Anime Natsuki Takaya Illustrations, which features illustrations and author commentary in a single omnibus. There is also a manga anthology for Higurashi When They Cry: GOU, titled Higurashi: When They Cry: GOU Anthology Comic, bringing its cheerful vitality to life, and a novel series titled Agent of the Four Seasons by Kana Akatsuki, the creator of Violet Evergarden, which topped the New Title category of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook.
🎨 The artbook for Fruits Basket is released to commemorate the anime adaptation of the beloved manga, while the anthology comic brings to life the cheerful vitality of Higurashi: When They Cry: GOU. The novel series Agent of the Four Seasons by Kana Akatsuki is also licensed, as well as Lord Hades's Ruthless Marriage, a manga about Hades refusing to give up his single life and love-unconvinced nature, and a vampire-themed manga called Kiss the Scars of the Girls.
⏰ The last announcement is for a manhwa, The Villainess Turns the Hourglass, in which Aria, who faces death for her misdeeds, is sent back in time with a mysterious hourglass to destroy her stepsister Mielle's life.
