Struggling with UI/UX layout design and color palettes...
Hey folks! So, I do pretty well with putting together layouts once I have an idea. I really enjoy it. My main issue is coming up with:
1. A nice color palette
2. A nice, unique layout
I have used sites like coolors but I guess the main issue for me with coolors or other palette generators is I have no idea how to implement them a lot of times. Which one is for the background? Which one is best for the font color? Which is best for links? Buttons? A secondary color for certain cards/divs?
But also, I really struggle just finding palettes that I think will look nice.
The other issue as I listed above is that I often struggle to come up with nice layouts that look nice, catch the eye, and flow well and also have a unique look to them. They don't need to look crazy or anything, but I still struggle. Are these skills you can learn or is it something that certain people's brains are just more hardwired for (people that maybe would be able to be graphic designers, painters, visual artists of other types)?
Do any of you have any resources that could maybe help me with this??

https://huemint.com/website-3/
check out huemint, it's a much easier to use color generator that allows you to kind of specify what you want (how many colors, etc) and then just start randomizing from there until you end up with something pleasing
and it shows the colors in use so you can also get a feel for what goes where etc
and to answer your question, the secret to good design is exactly the same as the secret to getting good at coding: just practice.
keep making designs and you will get better at it. Ask for feedback here to get insights. Also in the beginning, don't try to create professional designs from from scratch, that will just lead to frustration.
just look at other websites. Any time you see a section or a layout you like, or a color, or style or element or font, etc. Anything that pleases you really. Screenshot and use them as inspiration to create your own variations of them

yeah I like how that one lays out colors for you a lot
Yeah thank you for that! Being able to see how they use the palette is really helpful. And yes, coolors has so many intense colors often, it's overwhelmind
