Toei Animation Unveils Girls Band Cry Original Anime
🎤🎶 Toei Animation has revealed a new original anime project, Girls Band Cry, which includes an animated music video and additional details that will be announced on May 29th.
🎨📺 Toei Animation, who is best known for creating classics such as Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon, will be unveiling Girls Band Cry, adding to its impressive portfolio which includes the ongoing Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure and Tōsōchū: The Great Mission.

Looper: Makoto Shinkai Says He's Tired of Making Boy Meets Girl Stories
🌸 Makoto Shinkai, the director of the anime movie "Suzume", downplayed the romance of the film, with the male love interest turning into a chair so that the story is more about friendship than romance.
🌸 Shinkai disclosed that he is getting tired of making "boy meets girl" stories and wanted to turn "Suzume" into a movie about two girls on a journey, but a producer suggested sticking to the romance genre similar to his previous works.
🌸 "Suzume" has earned around $5 million at the US box office since its opening, with worldwide streaming available except in Asia, and its director Makoto Shinkai expressed that he was not too concerned about the LGBTQ+ aspect but rather about telling a human story with universal themes.

Crunchyroll Adds Inuyashiki Anime
🌟All 11 episodes of the television anime adaptation of Hiroya Oku's Inuyashiki manga are now streaming on Crunchyroll in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America, and Scandinavian countries. 📺The series previously streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime.
👴Ichiro Inuyashiki is a 58-year old man who is constantly ignored and disrespected by his family, but then something extraordinary occurs. A blinding light in the night sky strikes the earth where he stands, he wakes up unscathed but soon starts noticing that there's something different about himself.
🎬The anime premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina block in October 2017 with Keiichi Satou as the chief director, Shūhei Yabuta as the director, Hiroshi Seko in charge of the series composition, and Naoyuki Onda as the character designer. The anime was produced by studio MAPPA.

Kuso Miso Technique Gay Manga's Shin Yaranai ka Anime Reveals More Staff Before Crowdfunding Starts
🌟 Yi Zhang, episode animation director for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, is the chief director and character designer for the upcoming anime Shin Yaranai ka, based on Junichi Yamakawa's manga Kuso Miso Technique.
🤩 Before launching their crowdfunding campaign on Thursday, more staff members and character design sheets for the anime were revealed, including Sumito Sasaki as animation director and Gekiatsu-kun as chief animator.
💰 The crowdfunding campaign aims to raise 8 million yen (about $60,000) and offers various rewards for sponsors, from art and online preview screenings to the anime itself in MP4 and Blu-ray formats, culminating in an online release on Niconico and YouTube this Christmas.

Kodansha USA Licenses How to Grill Our Love, Small Nozomi & Big Yume, The World of Summoning Manga
Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed 3 new manga including the debut works How to Grill Our Love and The World of Summoning as well as continuing series Small Nozomi & Big Yume. These titles will all be available digitally starting in May.
How to Grill Our Love follows Kenta and Chihiro's budding relationship over their love of barbecue. Originally appearing in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 2020, the 10th volume was released in March.
In Small Nozomi & Big Yume, high schooler Nozomi Koiwa wakes up having lost her memories and almost all her height. She runs into a drunken shut-in, Yume Okubo, and they begin investigating her shrunken state. The manga ended in 2021 after a 3-volume run.
In The World of Summoning, main character Tokoyo's identity as a human gives him the ability to summon people and objects from another world into his own. After he leaves his own summoned world Tokoyo finds that not everyone shares his dream of a world where humans and summoned beings live together in harmony. The manga was globally launched on February 9th of this year and will wrap up with the next chapter.

Reign of the Seven Spellblades Anime Reveals 6 New Cast Members
🌟 Six new cast members have been revealed for Bokuto Uno's Reign of the Seven Spellblades light novel series anime, including Shōya Chiba and Ai Kakuma. The anime will premiere in July.
🎭 Shōya Chiba will voice Richard Andrews, Ai Kayano as Ophelia Salvadori, Kazutomi Yamamoto as Carlos Whitrow, Satoshi Hino as Alvin Godfrey, Ai Kakuma as Vera Miligan, and Atsushi Imaruoka as Cyrus Rivermoore.
📚 The Reign of the Seven Spellblades light novel series is published in English by Yen Press, and the story follows Oliver and a girl named Nanao as they navigate their way through a dangerous school.

📚 The novels, published digitally in English by Cross Infinite World, tell the story of Jill, who is sent back in time six years to the party where her engagement to the crown prince had been decided.
🎨 Anko Yuzu launched a manga adaptation of the novels in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in July 2020. Yen Press has licensed the manga in English under the title The Second-Chance Noble Daughter Sets Out to Conquer the Dragon Emperor, with the first volume set to be released in August.

👻 Yamishibai inspired a series of spinoffs, including a live-action adaptation, The World Yamizukan, and the Ninja Collection spinoff anime. Crunchyroll streamed all the spinoffs along with the original anime as they aired.

Oshi no Ko Anime Posts Behind-the-Scenes Documentary
📣 The behind-the-scenes documentary of the Oshi no Ko anime was uploaded on its official YouTube channel, covering the pre-production, script, character designs, and concept art for the series, with English subtitles available.
🎬 The anime staff decided to create a 90-minute long first episode instead of dividing the first volume into multiple episodes as they wanted to include all important scenes and dialogues. The staff also received input from the manga creators, especially about character design, and the anime premiered on April 12 with HIDIVE streaming as it airs in Japan.
