Btw may I know what's happening Why do I need to do that?
Arii
Arii2y ago
typically its to do with either the gpu driver or what gpu valorant auto selects on boot those two are the typical issues

I updated yesterday Nvidia driver And I roll back because of this issue But it stiill happen
Arii
Arii2y ago
maybe check the nvidia control panel and make sure its using your main gpu and not the integrated one if it exists
Seki
SekiOP2y ago
How to check?
Arii
Arii2y ago
go to device manager and look under 'Display adapters' it'll show all the graphics cards you have
Seki
SekiOP2y ago
Ok , got it .
Arii
Arii2y ago
do you have 1 or 2 gpus?
Seki
SekiOP2y ago
I have 1 only Not integrated
Arii
Arii2y ago
then that can't be the problem sadly
Seki
SekiOP2y ago
Is there any other issue?
Arii
Arii2y ago
there is no chance you installed a faulty driver or one that isn't supported by your graphics card? also what cpu are you using?
Seki
SekiOP2y ago
I installed new driver yesterday , but I roll back , so I don't think it would be driver faulty because the problem is still there after rolling back Ryzen 5 5500 But this happen after I update my driver So Idk How Confused

there were some weird interactions with 10th and 11th gen intel processors and the SSL libraries a few years back just a long shot thats why I was asking lol try doing win + ctrl + shift + b when its starting and see if it stays fullscreen and works

SekiOP2y ago
This reset the gpu right?
Arii
Arii2y ago
it restarts the gpu driver

I did that when I'm troubleshooting . It doesn't help

I mean there are some pseudo-fixes that I found and doubt will work and those are: 1. run as admin (if you haven't tried this I'll be shocked) 2. create the SSL variable that worked for intel and see if it works 3. test disable fullscreen optimization 4. disable anti virus as a test 5. increase priority of RiotClientServices.exe to above normal/high honestly though if it doesn't work and getting a clean driver set up and removing the old ones with DDU doesn't work you might be stuck on windowed fullscreen until someone figures it out here's how to create the SSL variable if you want to try it:
Open “File Explorer” (Win+E), right-click on “This PC”, and select “Properties”
Select “Advanced System Settings”
Select “Environment Variables” in the “Advanced” tab
Select “New…” under “System variables”
Input the text below and select “OK”

Variable name: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Variable value: ~0x200000200000000
Open “File Explorer” (Win+E), right-click on “This PC”, and select “Properties”
Select “Advanced System Settings”
Select “Environment Variables” in the “Advanced” tab
Select “New…” under “System variables”
Input the text below and select “OK”

Variable name: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Variable value: ~0x200000200000000

hey there, I am facing the same issue, and I think my display is running in integrated and not the Nvidia GPU, can I get help with this?
Arii
Arii2y ago
Sure, go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and then select 'Manage 3D Settings' and select the 'Program Settings' tab. From there select Valorant as the program to customize and select 'High-performance NVIDIA processor'
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
may I know where high performance NVIDIA processor option is?

JazXD
JazXD2y ago
there is no option called High performance NVIDIA processor in my Control Panel
Arii

Arii
Arii2y ago
you would get this second option if you are able to choose
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
I don't have that option. IDK why
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
Also check this pls. It does show these are running in Nvidia
No description
Arii
Arii2y ago
then it looks like those are running on the correct gpu
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
hmm
Arii
Arii2y ago
the other way to force valorant to run on the gpu is in the display settings on windows it would be Windows settings --> System --> Graphic Settings --> Add Valorant exe as a desktop app and choose the NVIDIA gpu in the options
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
hmm it doesn't show Valorant.exe but I think its riot client.exe
Arii
Arii2y ago
C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe whatever is equivalent to your disk that exe
JazXD
JazXD2y ago
hmm Okay, I will restart my system and try opening it now yes , I tried, it didn't work that way either. Its still the same. I even added the SSL variable
Arii
Arii2y ago
hmm I can try looking for some other weird solutions I already listed all the logical ones earlier :/ you can try windows compatibility mode but since riot deprecated those operating systems I kinda assumed you wouldn't be able to boot the game if you turn it on I found a very pseudo solution that worked for a couple of people and that was to close out of all razer applications
