FPS breaks from 200-20 every-time my mouse is moved.
My game has been experiencing extreme lag spikes and horrible performance the past 2 days. I recently tried overclocking my GPU and RAM only to realize that caused more issues than good so I then reset it back to default values. However after this, my pc proved to never be the same.
The main issue is that my FPS drops whenever my mouse is moved. After some testing I’ve determined that this issue is only prevalent in games that are more CPU reliant (osu!, Valorant, etc) whilst games that run more on a GPU load work fine (Overwatch, Fortnite, etc). I would appreciate if someone helped me with my issue or help me disprove my hypothesis and get to the bottom of it.

did you try a different mouse?
Not yet, I’m going to, but I updated my mouse’s drivers.
Reinstalled actually
what mouse do yo have?
G304 Logitech
wait
I have the same mouse
Worth mentioning that these issues weren’t here until 3-4 days ago.
so idt it's the mouse's problem
I’ve been using this mouse since last year around December 15 and it hasn’t ever had an issue.
hmm
Yeah, I’m assuming that my CPU is the issue
and what cpu do you have>
?
Ryzen 5 uh,
3200g iirc?
could be 3600g
good only
did you drop or hit the pc or laptop by mistake?
My entire setup is on the more budgeted side, GTX 1050ti, Ryzen 5 3200g, 16GB Ram 2667mhz (default) 500watt PSU though the brand is suspiciously lacking in information and a B450MH motherboard.
Nope
hmm
honestly idk
how long you have had the cpu?
2 years?
give or take
so maybe it's just wearing down?
and getting slower?
Not necessarily, it was running fine until my attempts to clock my GPU and memory
I’m assuming there’s a setting that keeps it messy and unoptimized
after overclocking?
than you most likely fried some of the cores or pins
it happened to my friend once
but he fried the whole cpu lmao
There's a setting called Raw Input Buffer that may help a little. It's designed for situations where your mouse has a high polling rate. May be worth trying.
I use that with raw accel
Yah. It's supposed to help with resource usage but I don't use it personally because it messes up Discord overlay.
ya?
that does not happen with me...
Yah. It makes the game read mouse inputs even when the overlay is up.
do you use raw accel?
No.
this is the only setting that helps
I used to play without it
and average 120-200 fps?
without it, the average stays the same
but when I move my mouse..
I have a medal clip.
It may be worth it to simply reduce the polling rate of your mouse in the mouse settings. If this setting helps, it's probably that.
focus on the fps
I’ve tried that too
clips don’t send here, sending it in #gameplay
Polling rate reduction affected everything in no way, however Raw Input Buffer helped drastically
Interesting. Riot would probably want to know what the issue is. Did you open a support ticket.
Twice, it’s been over 3 days
no response
doesn’t help that this issue occurred when riot was in the midst of an issue with updates due to softwares
that falls in the same category of support tickets
I’m probably a few hundred thousand in the waiting room
Damn. That's unfortunate.
Not how it works tho
