docker lags my pc
Heyy I've wanted to try Docker since it's something many people mention, but after installing Docker Desktop when I launch it, it makes my PC lag really bad. I'm on windows 10 and have 8gb RAM, it's not much but I didn't expect it to make it unusable. Anyone know something about this?

also depends on that are you running
May your system have mercy on that poor 8GB RAM Stick, windows 10 + docker ( if chrome running ) is ofc going to make your system slow as windows itself on idle eats 20+% of your RAM. You can either shave off unnecessary programs in your system or upgrade your ram, OR do native development all together if you can't put off with it.
Other factors which might play role is how many containers you're running simultaneously. keep an eye on your processes with
docker ps to make sure you're not running more container procs than your system can chew on.also windows docker is bad bad
even macos docker isnt the best
as both are "ports" from linux one
thx guys, i guess i will just pass on it for now, and try when I have more RAM 😄 I didn't feel like I needed to use Docker with T3 anyway, just was curious

sqlite is fine
if you want, cockroach db (postgres compatible) and planet scale (mysql) can work for your case
with a very nice free tier
yeah I use planetscale right now, great stuff. Will try cockroach too in future probably
I think docker is very useful to know, even with t3. For instance I use planetscale and a local MySQL docker for a local db for development. Might be worth dual booting to Linux and give it a go there? It would be a fun experience if you want to get some experience using linux
