Low fps
Whenever i open Valorant and go to shooting range i get 10-40 fps (even in menu it is laggy)
i tried whatever i could think of but i legit don't know what could be the issue.
My specs are :
CPU : Ryzen 5 1600 Six-core 3.20Ghz
GPU : Radeon RX570 4GB
Ram : 16 GB (2x8)
OS : Win 10 64 bit
Monitors : 1920x1080 144hz (Hdmi) / 1600x900 60hz (Display Port)
i have been going nuts for the past 3 days so any help is appreciated.

i can run harder games tho such as Rdr2 / Cyberpunk on medium-high with 60 fps
so its really weird that i am getting this low fps on valorant
That would be because those games are all GPU based. Your GPU is good. Your cpu... not so much

1 year ago i didn't have this issue but after i cleaned my pc i always had this issue whenever i tried reinstalling valorant
i tried updating windows / drivers / riot etc.
reinstalling some files even.
CPU is pretty terrible

my friend has the same exact cpu
its an $85 CPU its not gonna run very well
but he has no issue

he literally has the same cpu as me
but for some reason i get low fps

Might be valorant itself check your settings put v-sync off if it doesnt work or if u tried off try on put gpu on on+boost and you could uninstall and reinstall valorant to make sure all the files are there and are good
tried reinstall / every setting is at low and off (including v-sync) / i tried using boost but there was little to no difference
And is it also like this ingame?
i only tried it on shooting range but even on menu i get low fps so i didn't bother try going for deathmatch

yep. Medium - High with 60 fps
You could try to run valorant on windowed and open task manager at the same time see if your cpu or gpu or ram is using too much
i'm not gonna list every game i can play that requires more specs then valorant so tl;dr : most games runs smooth
Nah i get it just trynna see if its hardware related or not
i only tried windowed fullscreen but even when lowering resolution during fullscreen it didn't make a change
i checked task manager and it was 100% cpu usage (goes between 90-100%) and %40 gpu usage

the thing is that it shows valorant uses around 15-25% cpu but for some reason total CPU usage shows 100%
rest of the background apps doesn't even go over %5

No. although the only thing i have open is xbox game bar so i could try closing that
I got a gt 730 with a 6th gen core i5 and get 70-100 on low. That’s weird that you are getting way higher than me.
I dont know if you knew already but if you press on cpu it sorts it from what uses the most to the lowest maybe you can see it there
i did. it just shows valorant and other apps i use such as discord and opera (opera was open bcs i was using it for solutions from 2nd monitor)
and those apps barely make any %
most of the time below 10% or %5

i tried both capped and not capped. still 10-40 fps

i have AMD Software : Adrenalin Edition installed
I dont know much about amd sorry but you could try to see if you have it capped there
i tried using fps boost for gpu but there is barely any option for cpus lemme check more for details
Maybe somehow the your cpu is thinking the game is a background task or something. Did you try moving it to high priority in the task manager?
His cpu is getting used for 100% already that might me the problem
i tried making it high priority while the game was open and also tried changing how much cpu core it was using but no dice.

odd indeed. There was literally nothing changed since last year.
The only thing i changed is my SSD and that was due to SSD being damaged.
but i don't think SSD would affect fps this much
Yeah the only other thing I could think of is what he said about it being at 100% usage, leaving no more power to put into the game

Maybe check Reddit or a forum on that cpu to see if anyone else had trouble if you have not already done so.

Yeah. when i changed my SSD i had to clean my pc too since most stuff was gone. although my hard drive was not cleaned that much
also as in "clean" i mean full cleaning files n such

Windows defender doesn't say anything and i know that's vague but i didn't download or do anything related to virus.
so there is no virus.

Not games but like spotify or discord or those kind of programs

just game launchers (steam-Epic) and discord.
there is wallpaper engine but i always closed it when i was trying to open valorant
there is also a VPN program but i also closed that off before going ingame
i use the VPN program so i could open local internet for gaming with friends
When you launch wallpaper engine theres an option and you can choose how you run it right
but its not related to valorant

yep. it always stops the wallpaper when smth is maximized.
including apps like launchers and browsers
And do you have a moving or imteractive wallpaper?
just moving and has sound. But as i said the wallpaper automatically closes when i open a game

You could try to force quit it through task manager doesnt hurt either wallpaper engine or ur pc if u didnt yet

when i am not doing anything it goes up to 60 fps (still varies from 30 fps to 60 fps)
but when i move my mouse my fps drops to 10-20 fps

my polling rate is at 125 tho
Tru to use it wired if possible

Just upgrade your cpu honestly.

would've caused other problems for other games as well
