Invaild Editor - Web Embed editor issue
Hello I had noticed a issue with my welcome message where it did not properly tag the channels despite the channels appearing as properly tagged in the preview of the embedded message. So I went back to the embed editor to fix that by replacing channel names with their respective IDs and I was met with this error. Could you help out with this? Thank you! - cc @Deleted User

@Deleted User there you go

Well thank you. Much appreciated. Now I hope @Luna will get here soon.
I am not Luna, but did you try to rerun the
/config
Command?That's what I started with.
If I may ask, for which sector was the Embed
(Logging (Welcomer, Byer),
/prompt embed
)Well logging message embeds can't be altered and I know only one bot that allows such high level of customization where all log embeds can be fully customized to the server. As for Byer, I prefer it with the default settings and I have not used
/prompt embed
command at all since I found the bot.
I used the Embed for welcomer so I could add a image in the message and make the message more clean and professional.Okay, so the issue is with welcomer
Well yeah, that's really the only part of the bot I occasionally have issues with.
So there must be some bug or something else there that causes the issues with that sector.
Okay, we got some Information gathered, so only thing we can do, is just wait for Luna xD
Yeah that's true. Hope she'll be around soon.
Hi @Deleted User , each link is only valid for one edit, so you have to click the blue
Web Edit
button again and then open the link
(sorry it was 11pm at the time you created this and I was asleep)Wait what? That makes no sense to me whatsoever. The link should be permanent and not one time use thing as the Later is quite inconvenient and may discourage people from actually using the embed editor or even to switch to another bot fir embedded welcomer.
It was night for me too. I think around the same time as you, but I couldn't sleep so I worked on my server instead.
that’s why I said you have to click the blue
Web Editor
button again as that generates a new linkYou may have said it here, but try and think beyond this post. You haven't specified this anywhere. So perhaps you should rely all bot usage information to someone who could make a guide on how to use the bot which would include video tutorials as well.
I will add that information in the embed soon
I just noticed as well that it’s not possible for any user to know who isn’t me
Well it looks to me that while you make the bot good, you fail to deliver all necessary information for the users.
In my opinion you should have prepared a full user manual for the bot before you even made the bot public. That way everyone would have all information from day one and most basic questions due to ehich the posts like mine are made would be answered. Thus reducing the post creation and work for you.
I'm currently part of a team working on bringing custom bot services to people so their communities would be enhanced with bots basically made by that user and coded by our company. The user selects the bots name, status, bio, features, profile pic and prefix and some other things, but our team makes the code for a small price.
tbh, creating a up-to-date docs is pain in the laziness perspective. But i’ve been working on making one. The problem is just that I make this bot, I know it by heart, and sometimes I just don’t think on it that users are not me
So I know a few things by now about bots and information delivered to the user with final product is crucial for users to have good experience with the bot and that they wouldn't have to make support ticket or post for each little thing they wouldn't know cause there wouldn't be information on it.
to be fair, many people don’t even bother to read docs or anything and directly open issues for everything
Also why we switched to forums so a certain issue is easier to find
Prior to working with the said company (Azury Studios) I helped another developer (he made Sapphire bot) with promoting his bot as well as providing video tutorials on how to use the bot.
Prior to that (around 2016) I created two websites as back then I thought I would become a successful artist that makes digital and traditional art. I thought i'd be successful cause I kept receiving requests from people around me (mainly facebook) to draw their original characters and I completed those requests. So one of those websites was for show casing my artwork whilst the other was contact and support portal as well as where all commission info, pricing, transaction and related stuff would be done. Afterwards I got in to discord and not long after I used bot ghost to create my first few bots. They were primitive but they worked and I had full info made for each ot them as I thought of everyone during production amd I kept in mind that there will be others using the bot too and not just me.
I guess that's fair. But still. My point stands.
That is also true, but there are alot of those who do read the information and then use the bot equipped with the necessary knowledge to use the bot.
yeah, i will try to implement important infos directly into to bot so there is not even a need to open docs or so. Tough I will continue work on the docs
Maybe u could make a Command for the tutorials where u get Linked to the YT. Or even a button
And when docs are done the button gets a message with select or buttons for either docs or YT
maybe
@NotFound.sh has a great idea. I would definitely implement that.
Excellent. Good luck with that. As for me, I was able to update my embedded welcome message. So it's all good now
