How boring is Programming in the long run, (Career wise)? Yes this is a serious question.

Is just going to be black interface screens, and coding exclusively? Sitting at a desk for 8 hours non-stop? Do I ike coding..? Sure, do I like it for 8 hours..? HELL NO! Be brutally honest. I was accepted into the CPA program, along with CTY, and CSN.

I can't really be into something for long periods of time. I might be able to do 8 hours straight sometimes, like once every 2 weeks maybe. Mostly I just do it chill, along with some other activity. More like 3 hours. I wouldn't call it boring though. It's challenging and might be difficult. Maybe annoying. Scary. But not boring, no. Because you constantly are dealing with something that needs a solution - you gotta be the one to solve the problem, fix something that's lacking. I don't see that being boring.

Well it sure beats doing general labour jobs. Sure, programming can be frustrating and requires a lot of patience. But beggars can’t be choosers in this economy.

I would say - if you don't enjoy the process - don't go for it

I just want a desk job for once. Programming is a cushy job.

@armstronger123 Lol. I get where you're coming from. There are a lot of desk jobs. I have done white collar and general labour before. However nothing secure. Hence going back to school. I only applied to the CPA program as a springboard to bridge into the data science degree at seneca, gain some co-op experience and have a diploma in my hand sooner first, then do another 2 years for the data sciene degree. Alternatively I also got into the CTY program and it has a degree pathqay into networking and securities which I find interesting because it could lead to a career in the intelligence industry So I am stuck trying to figure out which offer to take I have until March 1st if I want to stary in May Or wait until september after applying again. I notice that nobody evers talks about senecas Computer Engineering Technology program. Whats uo with that>

Not in this server. Computer engineering is harder than programming and the jobs for that field are in demand right now

Yeah it seems super interesting The college told me I would have to upgrade my grade 12 math credit to get into the CET program for september or take the engineering math admissions test and pay $55. I have heard of computer scientists, programmers, software engineers, Information Technology Admins etc. Cyber Security specialists, etc. But Computer Engineer have never met. Im assuming Computer Engineers are working in labs creating hardware and software components?
