Since the old agent oc fanart section is gone, I've decided to compile every piece of Lyric-related art in one spot for everyone to see, as well as keep things organized. I've had a lot of different artists draw Lyric, so I will give credits appropriately 🙂 (if there's no credits, either I made it or the artist didn't require credits)

Ah, I realized I never posted her abilities. I'm thinking of reworking Dissonance completely and buffing Mic Drop, but I'll post updates on it when that happens
Basic Abilities:
Noise Cancel (C) : INSTANTLY channel a protective aura that silences Lyric’s movement and actions for a short duration. This includes reloading, jumping, running, and falling from a high enough place. Dissonance (Q) : EQUIP a song of dissonance. FIRE to send out a short cone-shaped soundwave that will detain any enemy hit by it. Has a 3 second windup time.Signature Ability:
Soundwave (E) : EQUIP and ready your soundwave. Use PRIMARY FIRE to send the soundwave forward, bouncing off of any wall it comes in contact with and activating after deployment. Enemies that walk through the wall will be temporarily deafened. The wall can be 45 meters at max length. Full Description: Soundwave is a Vision Blocker ability that Lyric must equip before casting. Upon casting, she will create a line of soundwaves that moves forward along horizontal ground. Since the wall deploys slightly in front of her, it is possible to initialize it through a wall if she stands close enough. Once the wall collides with vertical terrain, it will bounce 90 degrees, and can bounce a total of 4 times before the cooldown and duration for the ability begins. A preview of where the wall will go can be seen on the minimap before deploying. Once the line of sound has reached its target distance, a wall of sound will start to rise from Lyric's location, spreading across the length of the line until it reaches maximum distance. Any agent who come into contact with the sound wall at any point will be briefly deafened. Once the wall's duration expires, the whole wall will slowly fall to ground.Ultimate Ability:
Mic Drop (X) : Mic drop is a Sustain ability that Lyric can instantly activate. After a brief windup, Lyric will emits a healing aura that heals her and all allies within range of her ultimate's radius. If Lyric or an ally within the ultimate are already at 100 health, they will gain an additional 10 HP of Overheal every pulse for a maximum of 150 health, including any shields they already have. The duration of the overheal will reset with every pulse of the ultimate. Once the Overheal expires, its granted health will rapidly decay to 0. The healing effect will not be paused if Lyric or any ally being healed takes damage. Unlike Skye's heal, allies not within line of sight of Lyric will still gain the effects of the ultimate. Additionally, the ultimate pulses in a cylindrical AOE, allowing allies above or below 5 meters of Lyric to also still gain the ultimate's effects. Although there is no visual indicator of Mic Drop for enemies, they are able to hear every pulse that activates if they are within footstep radius of Lyric.
Additional Notes:
Noise Cancel: -Has a 12.5 meter radius audio cue for activation and deactivation, similar to Yoru's teleport. -If suppressed by Kay/O, the Noise Cancel will be, well, cancelled. The deactivation audio queue will also go off.
Dissonance: -Can detain allies if they are hit by it -Distance between Lyric and the AOE is 6 meters -The cone is a 60 degree angle and has a 10 meter length
Mic Drop: -If suppressed by Kay/O, the ult will continue to pulse. This is because it is an already deployed and passively active ultimate, similar to if Kay/O were to suppress an ulting Kay/OI feel like Lyric's ultimate would be a bit weak in higher ranked competitive, so as a buff, I was thinking that her ult could half the duration of debuffs (decay, vulnerable, deafen, slow, concuss, detain, nearsight, and suppression) while inside of the AOE. This would only affect debuffs that have a timer tied to them, not ones like Reyna blind.

lol yeah I couldn't really think of a different name for it that was music related, so that's what I stuck with. It was initially called suppress but I feel like that could be mistaken for Kay/O's knife or something

she does, but it's one of those things that are progressively getting built upon. i worked with a VA friend of mine to voice some interactions between her and other agents that are uploaded to my tiktok, and if you look up the valorant fanon wiki she also has a page with some info there as well (can't link anything directly because they'll get deleted)

Riot didn't make the AGENT
and if RIOT approves if it as an agent it could result into legal issues (i.e. taking a suggestion and people not getting remburst for it, as an example. Or claiming stolen art and passing it off as your own (not that this is stolen, it isn't, but Riot can't know that 100% either)

Even though Lyric's copyright as a character concept and design belongs to me, I'm sure there's a lot of other rules there are to have her be a part of the game. Like, I know that game companies sometimes hire artists for things like loading screens or sprays or player cards for like, community events (like that one battle pass) but something like an agent who already has things built behind them by someone is isn't associated with riot at all is tricky, especially when they probably already have a lot of the lore planned out. Heck, people have come up with fan concepts before that now have similar concepts.
As much as it would be cool for Lyric to be canon, and it's something I would absolutely love to work with them with, it's not a very likely thing even if I gave them permission and got compensation. It's likely that a lot of her characterization would be lost too, aside from maybe her looks and abilities since I'm not a part of their writing team. That's why i'd even be so honored if she was a background character in like, a player card or one of their twitter artworks.
There's probably a more intelligent way to explain it but that's how i see it haha
(i also wouldnt be surprised if they just already have had a character similar to her in terms of music based abilities already in the works lol)

If you had read the rest of my message, it runs into a lot of legal issues, such as the fact Riot cannot confirm that none of her stuff is stolen. (It's not, but Riot can't really confirm that) Additionally, even if they can confirm that, they'd have to get an entire legal team to work something out which would probably be way too much for Riot to worry about for just one single character. They can't do it consistently due to the issue of possible theft ("Riot add my character" but they use stolen art (unknown to them) which would get them in a lot of trouble).
It makes things so much easier for them (and less riskier) to have proper employees to create work to prevent these issues
Because it's not owned or created by Riot, they won't use it to prevent possible legal issues
there can also be jealousy among individuals as a result, "why did YOUR character get added or not mine??"
or improper crediting, someone playing VALORANT "I made that character" "no you didnt youre not even a dev"
or maybe attacking Riot, "why would you choose that artist" "why would you add that character"
as some examples^
These are much lesser important factors, but it can prevent stupid scenarios and drama
There's also the issue of if Riot wants to change things up about the character that the individual may not like
but Riot may not add them without that changes
it's just a lot of different things that could make it more unnecessarily complicated for Riot

She was born in the US, but her parents are from Trinidad and Tobago (mom) and Japan (dad).
also meant to respond to this but I'd imagine her and Astra have a sisterly type of relationship. Like on surface level, they joke around a lot and get along, but Lyric looks up to Astra because of how strong and collected she is (and because she's an astral guardian, just too cool), and Astra in a way sees Lyric as a potential protégé (had to look up how to spell that lol) with enough training
Today, I wanna share yet another song I started working on, inspired by the Episode 5 cinematic song "VISIONS". I image this song would play during an Episode Cinematic rather than her Agent Reveal Trailer. The episode name that I came up with is "CHROMA" and the title of the song is "FEARLESS" (subject to change because it feels kinda generic). It's my first time working on a song and coming up with something that I think is close to being finished, but there's still some improvements that can be made. Lemme know what you guys thing :)

hmmmm wait, the enemy ult is usually said as if to the enemies (e.g. "You Will Not Kill My Allies," "Joke's Over, You're Dead," "You Should Run") while the ally ults are usually said as if speaking to the team (e.g. "Watch Them Run," "Let's Go," "They Are So Dead," etc.)

terms like encore and curtain call feels like they're supposed to be directed towards the performers though, which in this case would be Lyric's team so it's still kinda confusing i guess
i just thought of a final round kill voice line: "Looks like they're Coda al Finished!"

In one of her very early concepts, the closest thing she had was a a long scarf, but not a cape/robe. I just wanted to keep her outfit similar to that of a popstar/stage performer in her current design. If you'd like to sketch it, that'd be cool!

Nah, I don't think they'd argue over stuff like that. I still have to flesh out their interactions in the lyric lore story I'm writing on AO3. As for the icons, I got some different bases from a website called like game icon and edited them

I'd imagine she comes down from the top of the screen on a big golden hoop and a spotlight that lightens her up, and some golden dust around her. Then she jumps off of it and places her hand on her hip, inspecting her nails from time to time.
Once her 3D model is finished I'd love to try my hand at animating it myself

i'm working on creating textures and normal maps for her 3d model...ignore the fact that she has no pupils. also some of the colors are off

It all started with the idea of just wanted a Controller agent with healing abilities, and i was also inspired by Seraphine since she's one of my favorite LoL characters (even though I don't play LoL), and other music based characters from other games. and uhh yeah idk

Does Lyric have any connection with Fade?
Lyric and Fade's powers clash at times. Fade's "Nightmare" reacts negatively to Lyric's "Harmony" and Lyric's Empathic-related abilities don't bide well with Fade's nightmare-ish abilities either. Even though this causes some issues, I'd imagine they're trying to work it out the best that they can.

I feel like this question was never presented, but would Lyric count as an initiator or a controller? (Her abilities put her in either one, but I would assume an initiator)
She was meant to be a controller, but I will admit her abilities make her feel more initiator-esque. Since her concuss ability is just a categorically worst Wingman (designed it before Gekko came out) I'm considering changing it

oh yeah basically what toxicwave said lol. it wouldn't have any special effects. however, i had drawn up this Lyric agent introduction event a while back, don't know if i even posted it. Basically it would've been one of those free event passes that would've rewarded you with a special gun skin at the end of it.

quick question, what do u actually use to make the digital art for lyric
and how expensive is it?
i personally use clip studio paint. if it's not on sale it's pretty expensive... also if you search SukeArt on youtube or artstation they sell the brushes that they use to make VALORANT key art. Other than that, I'm not sure what programs the artists I commission use exactly, but most use photoshop or clip studio paint (would recommend clip studio paint over photoshop though)
Speaking of which, here's her new key art that I actually made using SukeArt's VALORANT brushes! I was gonna wait to see if I could get a new GOLDEN MOMENT clip animated but, don't think that'll be happening anytime soon so I'll just reveal it now 👍

i think your ideas are cool! I don't think I'll be changing Lyric's ult though, but I do need to still change her concuss/detail. Perhaps she could get a smoke orb that mutes deafens and keeps you deafened for a short amount of time when exiting it

I can agree with you there. If alpha lyric is just now recruiting the the alpha protocol and she is just now using her radianiate powers she might not stand a chance but omega lyric could since she’s in the future. I feel like summer is kinda in between them both so she can take down alpha lyric but doesn’t stand a chance to omega lyric😅 but omega summer then that’s a whole other story to talk about :KekDoge:

Because lyric can heal, defeat her sounds, and deafen or detain any enemy summer can have a really hard time to actually fight her since summer can easily get over whelmed if she can’t figure out where lyric is
But at the same time summers abilities are good for attacking so even if lyric does over whelm her with abilities summer can blind or greatly damage lyric with her radiant powers. So this could be a draw
