delete deleted images in app

Once I delete pictures from my iPhone I’m not able to delete the uploaded image in the app. Is this by design, or am I missing something?

iPhone Photos App doesn't link with Immich app Plus this is a backup tool, it doesn't make sense if you delete photos/videos on your phone to free up space and those files also get deleted in your backup storage

I mean the Immich app. I know it’s a backup tool, some pictures I’d like to delete since they are useless screenshots or whatever, but then I need to login on the site to delete it instead of being able to remove it from the Immich app

You can remove from the app you can hold down/long press your thumb on the photo to activate the context menu

on this topic @Alex Tran: do you plan on a feature that'd keep Immich in-sync with iOS Photos app, rather than simply uploading everything found in there?

There is no plan to keep the two synced because Immich is a backup tool.

I'm a newbee so maybe it is redundant to ask that, but will there be this function that google photos has, where you can free up space on your device? E.g. Deleting all of you uploaded pictures on you device at one through Immich?

Yes, there will be. https://github.com/immich-app/immich/pull/774 Here is the PR for that feature
