communities originally tried gathering under slack, but their services didn’t scale well enough.
slack capped member counts and prevented invites. so communities (notably react communities) started moving to discord instead
edit: to clarify, companies never had a reason to move off slack, so that remains the industry standard. So gamer stigma is prob a lessor factor

It just feels like Facebook from 2007
you can customize the notification sound to say “hummus”
thats the only notable feature imo /s
