Which forum along with create-t3-app?

Hi everyone, I am building a website, centered around a niche community, using the create-t3-turbo stack, and I am looking for suggestions on which forum software to use. I am considering options like Discourse, NodeBB, and Flarum, but I am open to other suggestions as well. Discourse has an API, so in theory one could build a frontend for it in NextJS, but I'm not sure the developer experience, nor the final product would be worth it. But I am put off by the idea of using plain Discourse, as I might have to learn EmberJS and Ruby on Rails. I am interested in hearing about your experiences with these or other forums, and any concerns or challenges you have faced when using them with a Next.js application. Thank you in advance for your input and advice. Website features outline: * News aggregate * Users (And a subscription service) * Calendar with upcoming events * Games in the vein of Fantasy Football * Statistics and projections * And of course, the big one: A discussion forum Bonus question: Do you think a website like this is best served with create-t3-app or Astro? Thanks a ton!

I would give the bad advice of making your own but that's just because I love over engineering

Thanks. Do you mean my own forum from scratch? Or implementing an API?

Wow, that sounds like a ton of work I'm sure I would learn a lot, but I only have about 4 months for my website. Discourse sounds tried and true

A website for a community with a few features related to news, statistics and other various content. The forum is an essential part of it.
