val just refusing to run

so i think it was a new update or smt but val wont run. ive reinstalled it, logged in and out and restarted my pc multiple times but it still wont work. ive reported it and got a ticket n stuff but it still just appears with a grey play button. idk if its bc i recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 11. the funny thing is that it ran perfectly fine (updates, game) on windows 7 so im starting to think is bc of that?? not sure tho...
