Win your duels and it'll be impossible not to rank up. You can win more duels by aiming head height and standing still before shooting.
Also in Iron, defender rotations are instant. You can take advantage by baiting rotations, cutting rotations, and falling off of executes when you're on attack.
Get more kills, cooperate more with teamates, use comms (give comms whether you're alive or not but not too excessively)
teamwork is extremely important if not you're not going to win
well aiming well is also extremely important
so practice your crosshair placements i guess
Teamwork isn't required in Iron. You need to take control of executes and work around your teammates as they will make mistakes and do things that hurt the team.
For example to control when your team rotates in Iron, you need to hold spike, try to encourage rotations, and actually leave before it's too late.
To account for teammates who can't aim, you need to strictly use teammates for info and trade them out off their contact. If your teammates stomp a lot, you can use this to draw enemy rotations away from sites (enemies will rotate instantly if there's a footstep), or to know when you can cut rotations on a lurk. Since it's Iron, the enemy won't respond to getting punished for having no map control. tldr: It's more down to your aim, positioning and gamesense and less or even not at all down to teamwork in Iron.
