One big thing. As you have noticed, internationalization works best when you have your setup completely under your control. Some frameworks have a hybrid option, where they are initially SSRed, and then updated as necessary on the client. This may require a bit of wrangling on the part of your customers, to get their sites to cease attempting to perform initial client-side rendering
