I dont understand what you are trying to say 🤔 as in you currently dont use workers but you want to switch over to workers without the site going down?

What the dns entry is has no meaning at all so even if it is a real ip you can still have it go to workers. And if you want to pass through the request to the origin you just return fetch(the_original_request)
Is that record proxied?
