I never felt like that was a problem, since I can simply do a quick
Ctrl + F search on the entire server for specific terms.
If I find information about the topic I'm searching for, but not for the specific problem I'm having, I can... simply ask in a regular text channel.
I'm not sure if I like the organization aspect. This feels like feature creep on Discord's part.i think these are intended to be more easily searchable than regular threads
it also forces you to make a thread, instead of having a channel where things can branch into threads (which i don't think ever actually happens)

I'm not sure I get it, isn't this literally threads but with a bigger page to view existing threads?
Like, this is a thread. The previous page where you can see all posts is basically just the popup to see all active threads in a channel, except it's a full page and not a small popup? 🤷♂️
You can also make threads as big as regular text channels.
what I really like about this is that this is easy to manage active questions that still need help. Threads here can be archived so the forum can be active questions that still need help
Also unlike channel threads these probably don't get deleted after 3 days. And they don't tie to a message in a channel. And they have tags, and thread-wide reactions, and 'follow' behavior
